Paralympic Opening Ceremony Wheelchair Dancer Fractures Pelvis But Determined to Dance On The Night

August 28 2012

Paralympic Opening Ceremony Wheelchair Dancer volunteer Diana Morgan-Hill found herself in hospital on Sunday morning with a fractured pelvis. Determined not to miss the opening ceremony dress rehearsal that afternoon, she danced without her prosthetic legs, with a ceremonies medic standing by with the entenox. Diana can't praise the fantastic ceremonies medics team high enough. Ordered to rest until the big night on Wednesday, Diana is determined to dance and, with their help, is sure that she will make it.

Diana, with Olympian Mark Foster as her dance partner, was the runner-up in the BBC3 Strictly spin-off Dancing On Wheels and has gone on to become an ambassador for the sport. More information here. In this role, she found herself dancing with Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

Diana has just completed her autobiography, WOW - Woman On Wheels, to be published later this year.

Diana is currently based in West Kensington, London and Poole, Dorset.
